Hand #1
Effective stacks ~3k
3-handed
"Young man" who is great action player raises to 60 on the button, I defend K4c in SB and BB calls as well.
Flop KdQ4d
I lead 140, BB calls, villain makes it 320 more, I call, BB folds.
Turn offsuit 5
Villain has a tendency to pay off overbets so I just ship and he snap calls. We run it twice and at showdown I find out that I was drawing dead because he had KK. No matter how the hand plays out I am going broke on the turn.
Hand #2
Effective stacks ~3k
3-handed
Same villain opens to 60 on the button, I 3-bet to 210 with red sevens, BB folds, villain calls.
Flop K 9c 6c
I bet 240, villain makes it 480, I call.
Turn offsuit A
I lead 560, villain snap ships to put me all-in. I can't beat much but villain has some betting patterns and tells that lead me to believe I have the best hand and at best villain has a draw with no pair. I call and we run it twice.
River #1 offsuit 8
River #2 Qc
I was partially right in that I had the best hand. I was dead wrong in what I thought villain had though. Turns out he had almost no equity when he showed the expert Q8o with no club in his hand.
So now I'm stuck 6k and after some bleeding the final nail in my coffin comes.
Hand #3
Effective stacks ~3k
8-handed
The game is PLO and I have the straddle on. CO open limps, button limps, SB and BB both complete and I look down at what I thought was a sexy AdKcTd7c. I pot, everybody calls.
Flop Qd 9 2d
Blinds check to me, I bet 540, folded around to SB who check-raises me pot. We get it in and run it twice.
Turn/River #1 3 4
Turn/River #2 4 Q
Old man shows 9875 with the diamond draw and takes it down with one pair. Granted I wasn't a huge favorite on the flop but I think these types of days really make you feel like this is running super bad.
All in all a very smashing day. I've been having a hard time figuring out why I'm not beating the 10/20 game. I don't like to simply dismiss everything as running bad. As a matter of fact, I always think I make mistakes every session but today I think in my big pots I'm not sure if I would do anything different. It just sucks because it feels like I haven't really had a winning session in that game. The only time I won big I had some cooler hands and it was 3-handed with no old people.
